Our Story
At SAN Angels, we are dedicated to building a simple and efficient process for investors looking to make angel investments in India from across the globe.
By taking a strategic and process-driven approach to evaluating startups, we bring the right opportunities to our investors.
In the autumn of 2018, a group of ten friends gathered in Boston to discuss the Indian startup ecosystem. As longtime residents of the USA, they were all interested in the potential to make angel investments in India. However, they faced several challenges, including concerns about fund transfers, taxation, and the need for a trusted partner in India to identify the right opportunities and guide them through the investment process.
It was out of these discussions that the idea for SAN Angels was born to be trusted partners for angel investors. In November 2021, we launched SAN Angels to bring this vision to life.
At SAN Angels, we focus on creating an affordable and transparent process for investors and startups alike. We take a strategic approach to evaluating startups, cutting through the noise to identify fundamental business strengths and the right opportunities for investors looking to make angel investments.

Investment Focus Areas
Our investment approach balances risk and reward, focusing on startups backed by institutional investors. We prefer startups with annual revenue of at least INR 20 million. While open to all sectors, we favor B2B tech ventures. In the past 18 months, we’ve supported health tech, prop tech, EdTech, agriculture, and more.
Startups can apply through our online portal or at network events. Our team carefully reviews each application before selecting promising ventures for further evaluation. This includes thorough due diligence checks and inviting shortlisted startups to pitch their ideas to our investors. We also provide ongoing guidance and networking opportunities, ensuring that investors have ample opportunities for meaningful angel investment with strong growth potential.

Last year, we reviewed 130 startups through this process and selected only 10 startups for pitching to our angel investors.
Amongst our recent successes are Styched – a D2C company’s acquisition of Flatheads brand; HDFC Bank’s investment in Home Tech Prop Tech /Fintech; S. Chand’s (a publicly traded company) backing of IxamBee exam prep platform for the government job in small towns; NanoClean’s new high-tech nano filter products launch; QuantoAgro’s strong financial performance with potential IPO prospects.
